I like the top one better, because without the crest t looks kind of like a chicken.But a majestic chicken.As for the familiar thing, it bring a tattoo parlor to my mind a bit.Did you work with the other version of this more? I still really like it.
i like the top one better as well! it resembles a phoenix to me more than the other. hm, i'm a little afraid that the phoenix idea won't come across as well in the b&w.
