I added some red to the narrow one. I'm going to do the same with the square one, but I just need to retake the photos and everything.

Non-Progit Org Poster

For typography we each picked a non-profit organization and had to do one poster design and a 2 disc dvd case design. This is my poster so far. It was completely hand drawn, then colored in illustrator

although No Doubt is back together and touring again this summer.

Earth Day: Series of 3

Here are my posters I've been working on... I wanted to do a series of 3 using "reduce, reuse, recycle" I'm also trying to decide what color to go with. My first idea was with the peach, but i like the blue too. 

Any changes?

Specialty Item: First designs

Here are some initial designs for my incense kit boc. its going to be a skinny long matchbox style. This is what it looks like flattened out. it will be folded on each dotted line. these will be the covers for the "matchbox" that the compartment will slide in and out of.

Specialty Item

After thinking about my specialty item, and going over what felt like 5 million ideas that just didn't fit, I talked to Stan and after some brainstorming I have decided to do incense! Rockstar Gold is very much catered to the older hippie type (with Paul Cornwell being a major leader in cannabis reform here in Atlanta) and definitely has a very underground raw feel to it. It is a very chilled out place, almost like an alternative antique shop or a messy dark boutique, and I feel like this is the perfect item for the shop.

Tonight I looked up lots of templated for some boxes, and I think I'm going to go with a matchbox style container. It's going to be a bit longer (like 4.5"), however I think I'm going to use mini incense sticks (which are around 4"). I want a divider in the box as well - with the incense on one side and some matches on the other, and the match strike thing on one of the side panels.
Here is a quick mock up I made tonight and just drew some illustration with pen (amazing pictures by photobooth):



but i'm really excited about this idea, and i think it is going to be fun to make.

Narrow Ad

I also tried to ad in the pen in the larger ad like Stan suggested, but I thought it looked a bit crowded and it kept getting a little blurry for some reason... but maybe I can try some other way soon.

Advice on Ads?

I'm pretty happy with my ads... but I'm a little concerned with the type on my full page ad. Any suggestions on how I can make the copy better? (the composition, but also the actual content of the text)

I found this artist who does these amazing designs with paper. Yulia Brodskaya. Her other illustrations are amazing as well.
